Brahma's Haute Couture line features animal prints on the covers. The world of high fashion has featured animal prints traditionally, so for those who enjoy Haute Couture high fashion, Brahma is pleased to bring you a variety of high fashion staples including books featuring Jungle Leopard, Snake, Alligator and Suede prints. Brahma is fully devoted to animal rights and the skins are artificial. As a matter of principle we never use leather and no animals are harmed in the making of Brahma Books. The Couture line books have 140 pages, 80 Gsm low bleed paper that is smooth and PH7 Neutral Acid Free. The notebooks come with a pocket inside the back cover, have a soft cover, with rounded edges and an elastic band. The couture line is available with blank or lined pages and in the pocket size (A6) or the book size (A5). A NOTE ON HAND SEWN NOTEBOOKS:It is key to note that almost all the notebooks on the market are not hand sewn, but are machine made. Some are labeled hand bound, but these are not hand sewn, the hand binding refers to the pasting of the covers. Hand sewn notebooks are in a class by themselves and Brahma is proud to be the only specialist in making hand sewn notebooks. 1) Hand sewn notebooks open completely flat. They are not scrunched up about the spine. This makes for an infinitely superior writing and drawing experience as the full page is accessible comfortably. Machine bound or hand bound (but not hand sewn) notebooks do not open flat.2) Thick thread that does not go through book binding machines is used by Brahma to sew notebooks by hand. Therefore these notebooks are much stronger, hardier and longer lasting than machine bound notebooks.3) Hand sewing allows access to the spine in the binding process, versus perfect binding where a machine coats the spine with a layer of glue. Brahma employs a special triple spine binding formula where cotton paper is hand pasted using the best adhesives on the spine, making the books even stronger.
